Surfjack Talk Story Sessions: The Women of ʻOnipaʻa
9月 28, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Meet the women of ʻOnipaʻa, the first women’s crew of outrigger canoe paddlers to cross the Kaiwi Channel from Molokaʻi to Oʻahu in 1975. As published in HAWAIʻI Magazine’s September/October issue, these pioneers of the sport will share memories about the historic crossing that paved the way for the world’s ultimate long-distance competition, Nā Wāhine O Ke Kai, in women’s paddling. Talk story with original crewmembers and celebrate just days after the annual race.
