MORE JOY AT MAHINA & SUN’S

This year’s sake-tasting season starts off at Mahina & Sun’s on the poolside lanai, featuring Chef Ed Kenney’s twist on farm-to-table island cuisine.

The evening begins with some quirky facts about the history of sake in Hawaii, from its first arrival in the islands during the reign of King David Kalakaua up to the discovery of a miracle yeast in Pauoa Valley that transformed the sake industry in Japan.

There will be 50 labels at the tasting, featuring award-winning entries from the 2016 U.S. National Sake Appraisal—and a sake-friendly appetizer selection to make them taste even better.
