Blue Note Sneak Peek Showcase: Rachael Yamagata

Join us at the Swim Club for a free preview performance by critically acclaimed singer Rachael Yamagata. Inspired by the likes of Tom Waits, Roberta Flack and Nick Cave, Rachael has performed for President Obama and Deepak Chopra.

Her latest album, released in September 2016, showcases her calling card ability to articulate humanity’s struggles within relationships and the freedom that comes from celebrating that which we face alone and head on. Rachael has collaborated with artists including Toots and the Maytals, Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne, Conor Oberst, Jason Mraz, and Katherine McPhee; and Australia’s “The Voice” winner Karise Eden reached #1 with Rachael’s song “You Won’t Let Me.”

Her performance will be opened by local new age/folk singer-songwriter Hannah Mae.  Born and raised in Kentucky, now based in Haleiwa, Oahu, her influences and idols include Lana Del Rey and Alison Krauss.

This is a sneak peek performance of Rachael’s full showcase at the intimate and infamous Blue Note Hawaii in Waikiki on November 3, and will be accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Michael Chaves and renowned musician-producer John Alagia.
